I wanted to make you aware of the upcoming Microsoft Tech Fest event\, which will be held in the Golisano Atrium on Tuesday\, March 23rd. This exciting event provides students with an opportunity to meet Microsoft employees\, learn more about the different teams within Microsoft\, and learn more about the products they’re working on

His new artistic vision of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) seeks to transform the way we see and interact with the world.
Ishii’s visionary goal is to invent new design media for artistic expression\, as well as for scientific analysis.
The pioneering work of “Tangible Bits” Media Group takes advantage of the richness of human senses and skills in interaction with the physical world\, and in computational
reflection enabled by real-time sensing and digital feedback.
Ishii will explore examples of Tangible Bits projects developed and exhibited throughout the world in media arts\, design\, and science communities.

Making a Successful Transition from Academia to Workplace
While many students successfully master their degree of study at the college level\, many will fail
to maximize their career potential in the workplace. In a globally competitive\, dynamic and everchanging
environment\, companies seek employees who are adaptable\, have solid technical
expertise\, and possess the “soft skills” to effectively lead an organization.
Having a full understanding and mastering one’s soft skills is essential to one’s personal and
professional development. In this lecture\, we will cover three key elements that I consider “must
haves” for career success. The three elements are Performance\, Image and Exposure.
Performance is the fuel that allows you travel to your desired career destination. Without solid
sustainable performance\, you will not be prepared or considered for more advanced
opportunities. The second element\, Image relates to how you’re perceived by others – your
personal brand. In global diverse workforce\, one must be able to build relationships and foster a
positive working environment. Lastly\, Exposure reflects one’s ability to demonstrate
management courage and take calculated risk. It’s about having a voice and willingness to the
take on new challenges and opportunities.
